Robert W. Murray

DIRECTOR

Dr. Robert W. Murray is Managing Director of the Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice Group at Dentons Canada LLP. His Dentons practice focuses mainly on strategic counsel, planning and development, risk analysis and mitigation, crisis and issues management, policy development and analysis, organizational change and reorganization, and government affairs. He has advised both public and private sector clients across a variety of sectors including Economic Development, International and Internal Trade, Energy, Education, Advanced Education, Forestry, Municipal Affairs, Intergovernmental Affairs, Labour and Employment, International Organizations, and Corporate. He has held executive-level positions in the economic development, think-tank and education sectors, and has served as a university faculty member at multiple Canadian universities.

Bob has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Alberta, an MA in Political Science from Brock University, and a BA (Hons) in History from Brock University. He holds a series of fellowships and affiliations including a Senior Fellowship at the Canadian International Council; a Senior Fellowship at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute; and a Senior Fellowship at the Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect. He has published a number of books, volumes, journal articles and op-eds on various issues of public policy and politics, and is a frequent media commentator for local, provincial, national and international media.

Bob was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario and divides his time mainly between Edmonton, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario.
