Mark Fisher, CEO of the Council of the Great Lakes Region, to become the first President of the Canada Water Agency

CGLR Foundation’s Senior Program Director, Lora Shrake, to serve as Executive Director on an interim basis

Ottawa, ON and Cleveland, OH – The Council of the Great Lakes Region today announced that Mark Fisher will step down as President and CEO, effective March 14th, following the Government of Canada’s announcement appointing him to serve as the first President of the new Canada Water Agency. Lora Shrake, currently the CGLR Foundation’s Senior Program Director, will serve as the Council’s Executive Director on an interim basis.

Under Mark’s leadership since 2014, the Council has become a recognized regional leader in so many areas, from cross-border trade and border management to protecting the Great Lakes for future generations. The Boards of Directors of CGLR Canada, the CGLR Canada Foundation, CGLR USA and the CGLR Foundation would like to wish Mark all the best as he takes on this vital leadership role with the Canada Water Agency.
