The Council of the Great Lakes Region announced today that it has appointed Lyle McCoy, recently retired as the head of the U.S. Public Finance and Infrastructure Capital Markets groups of BMO Capital Markets, as a senior advisor to the Council effective immediately.
Mr. McCoy will advise the President and CEO of CGLR and its Board of Directors on the Council’s ongoing development. In addition, he will help guide the Council’s public policy research, advocacy and events concerning the challenges and opportunities that exist in the region with respect to infrastructure modernization and financing.
“We are honoured that Lyle McCoy, a respected leader in his field, has chosen to join the Council as a senior advisor, as he will bring a wealth of experience with respect infrastructure renewal and alternative financing models at a time when the region is undergoing a significant economic transformation,” said Mark Fisher, President and CEO of CGLR.
With over 30 years of experience, Mr. McCoy is a corporate finance veteran and has held various roles of increasing responsibility across debt and financial products groups.
“Public and private infrastructure, from our roads, bridges, ports and waterways to our drinking water and energy systems, form the back-bone of the region’s USD5.8 trillion dollar economy,” said Lyle McCoy. “I’m really excited to be advising the Council on its infrastructure initiatives and how the bi-national region can come together like never before to modernize and leverage these economic assets.”
Mr. McCoy holds an MBA from York University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Queen’s University in Canada.
