In industrialized nations, industries account for over half of the water used by humans, with that demand projected to increase by 40% within 20 years. Additionally, it is estimated that 4% of global carbon emissions could be saved within the water sector. With the high demand for water in industries and the power required to move and treat water, ensuring a water secure future and a net zero future are interconnected.

 In CGLR’s May webinar, we will hear from guest speakers at Grundfos who will discuss the journey toward more sustainable industries, focusing on water and energy-saving solutions and innovations. Courtney Tripp, Sr Strategy and Sustainability Manager, Grundfos

Courtney Tripp is a results-focused sustainability, strategy, and communications leader with 18 years of experience igniting the growth of purpose-driven companies and nonprofits, including more than three years in the water solutions industry. Throughout her career, she has defined approaches and created content to advance companies’ missions and connect them with their ideal customers.

Courtney is passionate about the importance of increasing sustainability and addressing the world’s water crisis. She believes in the ability of innovations in industry and manufacturing to help lead the way to a better, more resilient future. She holds a master’s degree in mass communications and a Bachelor of Journalism. When not working, she can be found on horseback or enjoying the great outdoors with her husband.

Tyler Johnson, E-Products and Controls Technical Sales Manager, Grundfos

Tyler Johnson has been with Grundfos for almost 3 years holding multiple roles. Including District Sales Manager for Industry and most recently E-Products & Controls Technical Sales Manager. Prior to working for Grundfos, he spent time in the groundwater and water treatment industries in Iowa, along with time in industrial and municipal chemical sales. All of these roles have given him more than 18 years of experience working with water.

Tyler lives in Windsor, Colorado with his wife and four children.  When not working, he spends his time hanging out with his kids, fishing, and enjoying auto racing.

Lora Shrake, Senior Program Director, Business and Sustainability, Council of the Great Lakes Region

Lora Shrake is the Senior Program Director, Business and Sustainability for the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR), where she is working with a growing network of business leaders to connect across sustainability issues and support the advancement of cross-sector solutions. Some of the programmatic areas include circular economy, water stewardship, and climate change and decarbonization. She also facilitates CGLR’s monthly business and sustainability webinar series, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and amplifying regional best practice.

Lora’s career experience spans across non-profit operations, environmental program management, stakeholder engagement, strategy, and research. Prior to joining CGLR, Lora led a national green building council in the United Arab Emirates where she oversaw all aspects of the organization’s cross-functional development, including its impact and reach.
